Real life ain't all it's cracked up to be. I'm wonderin' the use of my college degree. They told me I'd have a job and it'd all be okay, But instead I'm just a slob and every day... I wake up at noon, roll over check my phone. Ain't got no messages, oh yeah, that's right, I'm all alone. Turn on the TV -- oh shit, I ain't got one. I tell ya, this unemployed life ain't fun. Well, once upon a time, I was just a college kid. I didn't have a care about whatever I did. Now I'm supposed to be grown up; where did my folks go wrong? I should be out lookin' for work, but instead, I'm writin' this song: Wake up at noon, then just go on back to sleep. I'm spendin' all day, everyday, just countin' them sheep. Close all the blinds so that I can't see the sun. I tell ya, this unemployed life ain't fun. Well things could turn around; I guess I shouldn't fret, But best case scenario -- what would I get? Oh, I'd get that nine-to-five, and I guess that'd be okay. I'd join that daily grind now, and every day... I'd wake up at seven, then just hit that snooze alarm. I'm thinkin' ten more minutes couldn't do me any harm. Soon as I get to work, I'm waitin' on my lunch. I tell ya, this workin' life ain't fun. No, this workin' life ain't no fun.

I ain't one for too many words, So baby, try to understand If this song ain't too long, girl, I'm doing the best that I can. But I ain't no singer, and I ain't no artist. I ain't no poet, neither, But I would write you a love song, baby, If that's what it takes to be clear. So baby, baby whatchu doin' to me? I've been trying hard to behave, but I do believe That I'm addicted with this feeling, and I just can't let it go. I don't wanna be another deadbeat man. So baby please come home. I ain't one for such pretty words, But let me try to explain How it feels when I'm with you, girl: Like being caught in the rain. But I ain't no singer, and I ain't no artist. I ain't no poet, neither, But I would write you a sad song, baby, If that's what it takes to be clear. So baby, baby whatchu doin' to me? I've been trying hard to behave, but I do believe That I'm addicted with this feeling, and I just can't let it go. I don't wanna be another washed up man. So baby please go home. Life is complicated, but love is simple If you know what to do. It's not my nature, but I will try to be civil Baby, if it's for you.

Writing a song in a minute or two. You know I can't keep reusing these blues. Callin' to Odetta, "Mama, soothe my soul!" Sittin' at the piano wanna sound like Jelly Roll. Chorus: I need a song. I don't care what it means, Long as there's rhythm and words to sing. Guitar Solo Chorus Needing inspiration, I look to the stars, But the clouds are thick, and I can't see that far. Never played a trumpet. What rhymes with trumpet? Now I'm thinking of it: "Thump it" rhymes with trumpet! Chorus x2

Chorus: We all know we're gonna die someday. We all know, but we don't know. We all know we're gonna love someone, But we don't know when they'll come or go. She said," I see you're a sensitive one." I said, "Maybe, baby, you've got me pinned, But I'd like a voice like a blacksmith's hands, And I would like to take you home." She said, "Easy now, there's more to come; Let it come slowly, like chocolate on the tongue." And I've been scared, and feelin' alone and hungry all the time, Well I guess that's fine. Chorus Oh, she moves like a willow tree-- Strong as steel and sweet on me. She works real hard, and looks real nice, Whips up her love, such a good price. She says that she's been through the ringer. You look in her eyes, and you can't believe her. Chorus x2

Let's go out and break some shit. That's what those people get For having a door with No one guarding it. Bring a screwdriver, just in case That ends up being what it takes. Oh, nothing's gonna stand In our way. Bridge: We weren't drinking, No, we were dreaming That we would be kings. We were thinking We'd go out walking, And see what 4am brings. Our friend was wearing slippers, And we walked for hours, Crawling through the fence At an un-constructed tower. Ladder after ladder, Pissing off the top Until we figured out We were pissing on a cop, Chorus 1: We were kings of the world. For about half a minute, A painting of the skyline would've had us standing in it, Perched atop the city where the freeway went by. I guess it was a little ill-advised, And I guess we should be glad we didn't die. Pulled down by our heels, And pushed against a wall. Looks like we'll be getting That ride home after all. There ain't no call for looking down With fear or regret. The story may be over, But we haven't had a chance to tell it yet. Chorus 2: We were kings of the world. For about half a minute, A painting of the skyline would've had us standing in it, Perched atop the city where the freeway went by. I guess it was a little ill-advised, But if I had my way, I'd do that every night.

My Babe 02:10
Chorus: My babe don't stand no cheatin', my babe. My babe don't stand no cheatin', my babe. My babe don't stand no cheatin', She don't take no midnight creepin'. My babe, true little baby, my babe. My babe, she's way down south, my babe. My babe, she's way down south, my babe. My babe, she's way down south. She puts a roof on my head and food in my mouth. My babe, she's way down south, my babe. Chorus My babe, sweet as she can be. My babe, she's so sweet on me. My babe looks me in the eye Says, "Would you be my chicken potpie?" Oh, she's my sweet baby, my babe. Chorus My babe, warmer than the sunshine, my babe. My babe, warmer than the sunshine, my babe. My babe, warmer than the sunshine. I can't believe that she's mine, oh mine. My babe, warmer than the sunshine, my babe. Chorus

Sho 'nuff, tastes so sweet. Kiss you from your lips down to your feet. Oh, baby child, baby child, Hate to go, but I got to. Even if this was the last time, Well, I'd be quite glad, babe. You know, I'd be quite glad, now. Drinking grated coffee, sitting on the deck, Got a monkey on my back and kisses down my neck. Hate to go, baby child. Hate to go, but I got to. Even if this was the last time, Well, I'd be quite glad now. You know, I'd be quite glad, babe. Bridge: Well I guess that it had to be you. How lucky that it had to be me to. Playing country music while I drive, And every song rolls just like live. Hate to go, baby child. Hate to go, but I got to. Even if I die today, I wouldn't have it any other way. I wouldn't have it any other way. Even if I die tomorrow, I wouldn't have no sorrow. I wouldn't have no sorrow.

Devil's Time 03:48
It's 3am and the moon is bright, And the streets are rockin', I am cowering by my door tonight, And the Devil's knockin'. "I can hear you-- Don't tell me you've gone soft. And I know you know me. Don't tell me you've found god." You know I've always tried to be a good man, But I can't escape sin. I've lived my life the very best that I can, But I just can't escape him. "I can hear you-- Why don't you come on out? You don't need that Little shred of doubt." He ain't nothin' but a snake in a tree. He ain't nothin' but tricks. He'll just keep throwing temptations at me Until one of them sticks. "I know you hear me, And I ain't going away. And I know you fear me. Don't matter how much you pray." You know the Devil ain't no patient man, Or so I've been told. Maybe I should just let him in, And let him have my soul. "I still hear you-- Don't you make me knock twice. If you don't open this door right now, I'll stop being so nice!"

I Can't Quit 03:11
I can't quit something I don't start. And I can't lose something I don't want. And if I try, I might fail, And I ain't no failure. I ain't no failure. So tell me please: what was it that you saw right from the start? I need relief from the pain that's building up inside my heart, But I can't escape something without end, So don't go crying, 'Cause I ain't leaving. You couldn't hurt me if I never knew your name. You don't deserve me, 'cause I got no shame. And I can't miss something I never had, So don't go crying, 'Cause I won't miss you. I can't quit something I don't start. And I can't lose something I don't want. And if I try, I might fail, And I ain't no failure. I ain't no failure. I ain't no failure. I ain't no failure.

about

The glowing goose is a ghostly girl. Groveling ghoulishly, the gorgeous, gasiform glow goose glides growingly gracefully. Good geese gallantly gallivant Galapagos-ward, but ghostly glow geese gleefully greet globetrotters, graciously giving gifts of gords.
