Alpha Moonshine began in 1942 with a guitar duel that shook the very fabric of the universe. The two members, Daniel “Badger Paw” Saunders and Benjamin “Sonny Boy” Tate, met for the first time at the Crossroads at midnight, where they had both gone to see how many souls the Devil would offer them for a lesson on playing the git-fiddle like a man. And they truly were the manliest men who had ever lived. It was said that the Badger Paw’s sweat could burn holes through concrete, and that Sonny Boy’s tears could cure cancer if only he ever cried. Foolishly presuming that he could trick these two champions into destroying each other so that he could steal all of their amazing skill and genius, the Devil told Badger Paw Saunders and Sonny Boy Tate that they must face each other in a guitar battle, and that he would offer the winner fifty souls in exchange for his tutelage. However, the scaly bastard had underestimated the pair, and this paramount clash of the two godlike beings soon got out of his control. In fear of their wicked chops, he offered each man one million souls if they would let him go free. The badass new gods took pity on the poor little fellow and allowed him to scurry back into his fiery hole. Afterwards, they formed the greatest band that the world would ever know, and continued to protect the universe from Satan for all eternity.

"Blue" was recorded in a vacant warehouse near Mississippi Ave. in Portland, OR in the summer of 2011.
